The Challenge: I led a team of graphic design students, faculty, and staff through discovering how we might engage design majors with a relevant, challenging, and inspiring work opportunity that complements their academic study.
Innovation process: I facilitated a process of empathy research, ideation, and solution prototyping and testing. Methods including card sorting, photo ethnography, and mind mapping to uncover key challenges and insights. We used these to design solutions in response.
Deliverables: The team prototyped and refined over 10 work station development and improvement strategies, plus an implementation plan for these.
Outcome: Following our collaboration, student-led promotion of graphic design work study openings led to more graphic design student applications in one semester than ever before.
